Welding of 9% Cr-1% Mo steel used for super-heater tubes of high temperature and high pressure boiler, heater tube for all refining industries.
Characteristics
N-505 is a low hydrogen type electrode for all-position welding, which provides the weld metal of 9% Cr-Mo.
Notes on usage
(1) Dry the electrodes at 325-375°C for about one hour before use.
(2) Preheat at 250-350°C and post heat at 720-780°C.
(3) Adopt back step method or strike the arc on a small steel plate prepared for this particular purpose to prevent blowholes at the arc starting.
(4) Keep the arc as short as possible.
