DESCRIPTION
Its weld metal is 13% Mn steel and becomes austenitic by water cooling during welding. Accordingly, it has excellent toughness and high work-hardening property. So VHF-HMn, is suitable for surfacing of the parts subjected to heavy impact with abrasion. Machining of the weld is difficult due to its high work-hardening property.
APPLICATIONS
Hard surfacing of various crusher jaws, high manganese steel rails and high manganese cast steels.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR WELDING
1.) Avoid the continous welding and it is recommended to water cooling during welding.
2.) It is necessary to underlay with austenitic stainless steel in such case when the base metal is not 13% manganese steel.
3.) When the base metal of 13% manganese steel is hardened, remove it before welding.
4.) Dry the electrodes at 150 - 200ºC for 30 – 60 minutes before use.
